Abstract

Altaf Fatima is one of the renowned Urdu writers who achieved climax of the
success after her novel " Dastak Na Do" goes virally famous in 1966. She stepped in to
the literary field of Urdu through her fascinating short story writings.Despite her
several valuable and quality additions to the genre of Urdu novels and short stories; the
urdu related community could not give her due weight-age which she deserved owning
to her write-ups. Subsequently, she also translated some of the master pieces of the
World Literature in the Urdu language but most of the people are unaware of her such
literary contributions. The foremost aim of this article is to review her additions
towards the genre of translations in Urdu literature.
