Abstract
The tendencies and effects of modernism and post-modernism in Urdu literature can be seen in different genres. Modernism gave man great narratives and man started dreaming of equality, democracy, justice and prosperity. This trend continued until World War I and II, but after these two major wars, man came to know the fact that the duality of coercion and authority will continue in life. Its effects are seen in world literature and later in Urdu literature. In this research article, the Hammad Niazi has presented these elements of modernity in Urdu poetry with the help of poetic examples regarding Urdu poetry. In poetry, most of the rhymes, Hamd, Naat and narrative styles have been presented.
