Abstract

The political history of Indo-Pak sub-continent is marked with

two mega migrations.Firstly, it was experienced with the emergence of a

separate independent state in 1947.Secondly, when the same seperate

independent state bifircated into two wings i.e. Pakistan & Bangla desh.

The both migrations i.e division of india in 1947 and fall of Dhaka in

1971 gave birth to a number of tragedies on human grounds. These

tragedies are very well reflected in their parallel history of Urdu short

stories. Keeping in view these short stories especially written in view of

the Dhaka fall in 1947; present study is indicating those motives which

actually gave birth to this huge tragedy in our national history.
