Abstract
The contemporary wave of modern poetry in Urdu literature is of
great importance. The key names of this poetic wave who laid its
foundation are Iftikhar Jalib, Anees Nagi, Qamar Jameel and certain others.
Anees Nagi is the leading figure of this wave. His three collections of
poetry came forward one after another which incited the literary critics to
analyze his proseDpoems. By using unfamiliar terms and modern symbols,
he highlighted the issues of the suppressed humanity who were confined
in the shackles of brutality and tyranny. The following research critically
analyzes the different aspects of Anees Nagi's poetry.
