Abstract
"The reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam" are lectures by Allama Iqbal. In these
lectures he had adressed the basic challenges faced by Muslims of Indian Sub-continent and Muslim
Ummah in the background of Islam and its relationship with the West-Iqbal could see the effect of
Western civilization on the cultural life of Muslims. So in his lectures about Muslim culture and ljtihad
he rejected Greek Philosphy, and apprecated Ibn-e-Khaldoon for his evolutionary ideas. For Iqbal religion
is the supreme force, more than some blind belief and where as Islam is concerned he believes that as a
cultural movement Islam rejects the old static view of the universe, and reaches a dynamic view.
