Abstract

Allama Iqbal, the great poet of Indian Subcontinent, was born in Sialkot but his forefathers had migrated from Kashmir valley. Kashmir was occupied firstly by English rulers and later on by Hindu Dogra Nation. Kashmiri people were pinched by both of them since long. Allama Iqbal felt a deep love with the Kashmiries. He promoted the Kashmir freedom movement by his poetry and prose. He told them that they should be united to achieve the goal of freedom. Being Muslims, they should always depend on Almighty Allah and pray to Him for help in this freedom movement. In this article Iqbal's ideas regarding Kashmir movement are highlighted supported by his prose and poetry.
