Abstract
The study deals with official urdu journals of progressive writers association (PWA) have been appeared since 1936, the year when PWA was established. The journals which started before partition and continued till post-independant years continued, were adab-e lateef "savera' (Lahore) and 'Naya Adab(Mumbai).The analyses reflect the various trends and themes of progressive Urdu literature from Peshawar to Mumbai . It also reflects the voices of descent with in the movement.Adab-E-Lateef and 'Savera' fell in serious and conflicting ideological
debated during early 1950s.
