Abstract
This article deals with most convoluted aspects of Meeraji's poetry,i.e., mythology and sex. The article starts with short deliberation on problematic relation of modern poet with past. It has been asserted that chiefly Meeraji made the most of Indian mythology with the intention of introducing a native concept of modernism that could counter the hegemony of colonized European Modernity. Meeraji creates something new out of myths. He adopted the same convention in representation of sex themes in his Nazm.
