Abstract

Dr. Pir Muhammad Hassan was a great scholar who rendered his services in
scopes of Arabic and Urdu. He has also a marvelous command on research based
translation of the books which were compiled as original resources on Tasawwuf.
These include (1) Ibriz (2) Kitab al-Luma' Fil Tasawwuf (3) Al-risala al-Qushairia
(4)Al-Raisail al Qushairia (5) Al-Ta'arruf Li Mazhab Ahl Al-tasawwuf etc. Dr.
Muhammad Hassan translated these books into Urdu in such masterly way that may be
consulted as the original resources. He also improved the standard of these translations
by avoiding mistakes of former translators. He increased the value of these translations
by writing prefaces which are rich of authentic information thus molding them into
made them into masterpieces of Urdu literature
