The Traditional Concept of Life in Modern Urdu and Punjabi Poetry

Abstract
Ghazal is the most popular genre of poetry. Besides basic topics of ghazal. Some traditional topics also became a part of it. The transienty nature of the world is one of them. Under the influence of religious values and mysticism this topic was introduced in modern urdu and punjabi ghazal after the creation of Pakistan, with the tradition of classical ghazal. With the help of this traditional topic positive and negative effects can be witnessed on human temperament in modern ghazal. It highlights true meaning of human life and a man tries to make his brief span of life memorable through his actions. In this research paper, the continuity of the usage of this traditional topic in modern urdu and punjabi ghazal will be analysed. Furthermore, this topic will be compared to the ghazals of both the languages to highlight its intellectual harmony to demonstrate that ghazal is still depicting true ideology of human life.
