"The Urdu Ghazal, whether ancient or modern, has remained a very popular genre with our
critics and researchers. It is not exagerated that the material based on narratives, collection of verses, and
books on criticism and research is found rich on Ghazal as compared to other genres. In this way, the
Urdu ghazal has remained a significal, lively and stable kind of literature in every period of time. In the
present article, the Urdu Ghazal has been highlighted with all the variations are developmental stages
from its origin to the period of Nasikh. In this way the whole scenario of Urdu Ghazal for its earliest days
to the modern age comes into our vision.
