Abstract

Khushi Muhammad Naazir, Poet of Kashmir, was born in Hariawala District
Gujrat of Punjab. After completing his education from Aligarh , he joined the civil
service of the State of Kashmir in British colonial days. At last he was the Governor of
Kashmir. Naazir was a distinguished poet and humanitarian. He was greatly influenced
by the beauty of nature. Naghma e Firdous is an excellent Collection of his poetry. He
introduced a unique style in Urdu classical, religious and social poetry. Naazir is
commonly known for his poem Jogi. In this poem, Naazir's national, social and even
religious thoughts are expressed. Later on, he became more if a separatist which is
reflected in his later poetry.
