اقبال اور چین : تہذیبی تعلقات اور سیاسی بیداری کی نقشہ سازی

Through the lens of Geocriticism, Iqbal’s Urdu poetry charted a novel poetic cartography. He infused classical metaphors and atmospheric tropes with profound existential re-signification, enriching traditional themes in a manner that distinguishes his poetic genius. For the first time, through his spatial imaginaries, Urdu verse encountered a polymath who drew sustenance from diverse intellectual traditions, possessed an acute understanding of multifaceted civilizational wisdom, and derived spiritual vitality from religious heritage.Within his corpus, China emerges not merely as a referent, but as an integral coordinate of the world-system constructed within his poetic imagination. Whether delineating the contours of political awakening or harmonizing the aesthetic and life-affirming rhythms of art, his poetic gaze is consistently drawn toward China. His work meticulously maps the centuries-old commercial conduits and civilizational entanglements between the Subcontinent and China. This study adopts a geocritical approach to analyze the diverse intersections of China within Iqbal’s Urdu poetry. By curating a comprehensive selection of poems and references linked to China, our research unveils an elective affinity between Iqbal’s vision and contemporary Chinese policy—a compelling testament to the Urdu poet’s profound intimacy with the Chinese ethos.
