Abstract

Bushra Rehman, a famous Pakistan writer, known as jean Austin of Urdu literature was born at Bahawalpur in August 1944. Having a post graduate degree in journalism from the university of the Punjab, she has contributed a lot to Urdu literature beside pursuing her career in politics. The government of Pakistan acknowledged her contribution by awarding her “Sitara e Imtiaz” a presidential award given to very distinguished personalities, in 2007. Bushra Rehman is one of those female writers, who besides holding technical equirements, very aptly highlight the feminist feelings of love, emotions, sorrows, pain, sacrifice, compromises and displacement. Her writings depict the unfair treatment meted out to the womenfolk and societal indifference to their issues. She protests loudly on this unequal treatment to the females. Her writings have a clear flavour of feminism. She has written about all the roles of a female, whether of a mother or daughter, a lover or a wife. Her writings, speeches, and her own forceful.
