Abstract

This piece attempts to explore Anglo-Indians as a race as well as a subject matter of literature. This race had originated as a result of a social interaction between Europe and Asia, more specifically between the British and Indians. They were supposed to bridge the difference between the two races but were subjected to suspicion by both sides which resulted in a sort of identity crises for them. This state of their being in no man's land attracted the attention of some of the finest minds their fate and we see them consistent featuring across all genres of Urdu literature specifically the short story, drama and novel.
