Abstract

The era of British rule played an important role in life of women of Sub Continent. Governor of Punjab Sir Donald McLeod, William Mayer, and Col Hag rid, Matthew Cambyses took special interest in women Education. At That time, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan emerged as a Great leader of Nation. He was in favor of Women Education as he believed that without it there will be no improvement in society as well as national development. He wrote several essay in "Tehzeeb ul Akhlaq to create Awareness and educate women about their rights. He also convinced women through his speeches at different seminars organized by Scientific Society for women Empowerment. He raised his voice for Re-marriage of widows. He also worked tirelessly to eradicate foolish social norms and societal behavior regarding child birth. He was of the view that all this is due to lack of Education and awareness. And it’s right of women to get proper education.
