Abstract

Love has been well-dealt Subject matter in Urdu genre, Ghazal since from the classical age to the contemporary one. Nevertheless, this subject matter has never been addressed same everywhere; it kept on switching itself according to the societal shift about love relationship, if the beloved was callous in the classical Urdu Ghazal, the lover has sharply changed his/ her role in the contemporary presentation. To study the love themes in the contemporary Ghazal in contrast with the classical Ghazal underpins the bond of socio-literary layers of understanding. This search article aims at finding the paradigm shift of love and hatred relationship in the context of contemporary and classical Ghazal. This may help us define some of the modes of Urdu Ghazal and the shifts of emotional science in the line with the recent cultural and moral shift.
