Abstract

Heidelberg has a unique history of Literature and Culture.Significant Literature has been written and collected in Heidelberg.Heidelberg and its romantic silence has strong impact on creative artists. Allama Mohammad Iqbal spent few months in Heidelberg during 1907. Although Atiya Faizi has written about Iqbal's social life but Iqbal's real artistic approach of Heidelberg is in the poems that he wrote during his stay at Heidelberg. "Akhtar e Subh" is one of these poems. This paper deals with Iqbal's hand written script of this poem as well as with published form. This paper also explores the various literary aspects of the poem.
