Abstract

Deputy Nazir Ahmad is one of the leading and most important novelists of Urdu .His work has many folds and its critical appreciation can lead the reader to the understanding of the muslim society of his time,and no doubt his time was the most important period of social change. Ayama is Nazir's best but most ignored novel.This article deals with a critical appreciation and research of the novel, rediscovering its importance. In short this novel proves that Nazir Ahmad was a social critic far more than a mere pre-planned reformer.
