Abstract

Metamorphosis is a process which is often discussed in the criticism of fiction all over the world. From the "Metamorphosis" by Ovid to "Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka it is prominent technique of fiction writers. In the early Urdu stories metamorphosis is also an important technique which is adopted by many of fiction writers. Criticism of Urdu early stories has totally ignored this dimension and in this article same aspect of the fiction is discussed and defined by studying Urdu criticism and the studies of metamorphosis all over the world. It is first ever try to define it in Urdu.
