Abstract

The article looks at the travelogue writing of the eminent Urdu novelist Quratulain Haider with a focus on "Koh-e Damavand" written about her travel to Iran. The article especially sheds light on her writing style, knowledge of history and understanding of human civilization. An appraisal has also been made of the writer'staste for Persian poetry, her perception for culture and her power of observation.
