Abstract

This article discusses in detail the principles and practices of writing and editing dictionaries and focuses on the dire need of applying these principles on Urdu lexicography. It also deals with the significant issues of Urdu lexicography including the lack of standardization, the essential nature of Urdu language, and its impact on lexieography and the pronunciation and spelling issues.
