Abstract

Molvi Abdul Haq was a renowned Urdu scholar.He compiled and edited very important classical Urdu works and preserved it.He compiled Qawaid e Urdu,a well reputed gramma. In this article, research shows that Molvi Ab. Haq was not the first one. John Gilchrist was the founder Urdu grammarian to adopt this methodology in his Grammar(1796).
