Abstract

Allama Mohammad Iqbal's personal diary of his poetry is a rare and authenticliterary source. It includes his poem "Aik Sham" written in his hand writing whichsheds light on the time span during which it was composed. It also brings forth textualanomalies. This paper explores the various dimensions of the arguments surroundingsthe poem at above. It also highlighted the significance of this poem in Germantranslations among the German orientalist and links with Goethe and Glasenapp.
