Abstract

In this article, the contemporory reference of the lectures of Iqbal has been explored and the edition compiled by Mr. Saeed Sheikh has been reviewed as per principles of editing. This essay takes into account the extent to which the information provided in between the line could be separated from the basic text and how for it is helpful in accessing the primary sources through the methodology adopted by the compiler while arranging the text and providing footnotes and references. In any case the efforts of Mr. Saeed Sheikh in the realm of research and editing has eliminated many stumbling blocks in the comprehension of Iqbal's English lectures. This edition is considered to be the most significant and authentic in terms of the editing of the text.
